Michael Turtle – TIME TRAVEL TURTLE
In a region where conflict can often make travel dangerous, Jordan stands out as a safe and easy country to visit. For tourists, there is little to be worried about and, in fact, the warm and friendly people will quickly make you feel more than comfortable.
And there are plenty of reasons to visit Jordan! The capital, Amman, is an interesting city but it’s further afield that you’ll find the real gems. The highlight is, of course, the ancient city of Petra, which is one of the best sights in the world and deserves at least a full day (if not longer).
Other historical sights in Jordan that are worth visiting the ancient Roman city of Jerash, the desert castles around Amman, and the site where Jesus was said to be baptised.
And then there are the natural sights – like the impossibly-beautiful Wadi Rum and the clear waters of the Red Sea. They give Jordan a wonderful variety that is easy to see in a relatively short visit, allowing you to maximise your time and not skip any of these special places.

THE MAGIC OF WADI RUMĀ >> THIS IS WHY WADI RUM IS SUCH A SPECIAL PLACE <<
Although there’s lots of history in Jordan, it’s the natural landscapes that will really impress you. The deserts are beautiful and there’s nowhere quite as stunning as Wadi Rum, where you can explore by jeep and camp under the stars.
