There’s probably no better way to capture the city of Nashville, Tennessee than through song. It is the heart of the American country music scene and is now home to a variety of genres.
My visit there was one of the most enjoyable stops through the deep south. So, rather than wax lyrical about the city, I thought I would wax some lyrics (see what happened I did there) and write a country song about the city *melody not included
You ain’t seen nothin’ till Music City,
Inspiration of many a ditty,
Where the country has soul,
And the western is all,
‘bout the mighty Nashville life
The streets of the town are driven by song,
And the notes and lyrics are never wrong,
If the boots do a’scoot,
And the fans give a hoot,
At the mighty Nashville life
Merle sang about staying here to drink,
Now I can understand the way he thinks,
What people here do right,
Is stay up all the night,
In the mighty Nashville life
Every bar has a burning ring of fire,
But we are in the middle of the pyre,
As the party heats up,
We all raise up our cup,
To the mighty Nashville life
There’s too much to go solo in this town,
That’s just for the guitars and getting down,
Garth’s friends are in low places,
But we found smiling faces,
For the mighty Nashville life
People know if tomorrow never comes,
Then this last night will be just fine for some,
We were crazy as Cline,
And we walked Cash’s line,
Of the mighty Nashville life
